BONNIE - Medical Aesthetics Manager

“I love to see patients achieve their aesthetic goals. It is gratifying to be able to take what I’ve learned and provide our clients with the very best experience and outcome,” says Bonnie.

Bonnie has been a highly respected Certified Medical Aesthetician and Laser Technician since 1996. She is proud to have been a major part of the Facial Surgery and Cosmetic Centre of Ottawa since 1998. Bonnie is an honours graduate of Versailles Academy in aesthetics; she is also an honours graduate in computer business and healthcare from ICAN Business College.

As aesthetics manager, Bonnie’s area of expertise is in coordinating and developing laser rejuvenation protocols for the face and body as well as introducing individualized skin health restoration programs. She oversees the marketing component of Dr. Antoniak’s practice, which she co-manages.

Bonnie attends annual international conferences to remain at the forefront in an industry that is constantly expanding with new technologies and products. Her love of learning and passion for her profession drive her to offer the best light-based technologies and advancements in treatment protocols for our patients, setting our clinic apart from the competition.

Because of her knowledge and experience, she was approached in 2010 by Elevate magazine for her opinions on lasers and the developing technologies for skin enhancement. This helped to bring national attention to the Facial Surgery and Cosmetic Centre of Ottawa, for being a clinic which is committed to education and setting the highest standards for its patients.

Sheila – R.N. Manager

“Our role is to educate, listen, create a care plan that meets the goals of the client, and help the client attain those results to the best of our ability in a gentle, professional, artistic fashion. No two faces should ever be treated the same,” says Sheila.

Sheila has over ten years experience with Dr. Antoniak as RN Manager and as a cosmetic injection specialist with Botox™ and dermal fillers. She has been working in this aesthetic medical specialty since 1999.

She is an honours graduate from Carleton University and Dean’s List graduate from Algonquin College Nursing Program. Her focus and position is two-fold: to continuously grow and develop the “injectable” programs offered at the Facial Surgery and Cosmetic Centre of Ottawa and co-manage this flourishing practice.

She believes continuous education is paramount in offering the best and most effective treatments available to our patients.

Sheila travels internationally to learn the latest injection techniques, combination therapies, and latest product development available to the Canadian consumer. Her annual attendance at Anti-Aging World Seminars and Management Programs has made her one of the leading RN injectors in this field.

She has been recognized in the industry for her talents and artistry, and has consulted as a cosmetic injection trainer with a national distributor of injectable fillers for over five years.

In Fall 2009, her expert opinion in an article on injectable fillers was published in Revive, a national anti-aging and wellness magazine. Her enthusiasm for her profession and passion for her work, have helped establish the Facial Surgery and Cosmetic Centre of Ottawa as the premiere clinic for injectable treatments available today.

The Nursing Team

Lisa – R.N., Cosmetic Injection Specialist

“Working in the cosmetic surgery/aesthetic industry as well as psychiatry allows me to see first-hand that beauty is not only skin deep. It brings me great pleasure to bear witness to the physical & emotional transformation that occurs when clients realize their inner & outer beauty.” says Lisa.

Lisa is a graduate of the St. Lawrence College Nursing Program where she received the academic award of excellence. She has been an RN for more than 10 years and has been a nurse injector with the Centre since 2001. She specializes in cosmetic injections, both dermal filler and Botox™ treatments. With her experience, she has grown into more advanced areas. Her attention to detail and gentle touch ensure our patients are getting quality, specialized care resulting in a superior outcome.

Pat – RGN, SCM, RN

“I have been an operating room nurse for 45 years and bring a wealth of knowledge to the practice,” says Pat.

Pat has been with the team since 2003. She graduated from Glasgow Royal Infirmary in 1963 and followed her general nursing with state certification in midwifery, returning to a Theatre Sisters’ post at Glasgow Royal which she vacated to come to Canada in 1970. She spent 30 years at the Riverside Hospital working in the OR with Dr. Antoniak for many of these years before retiring and joining the Facial Surgery and Cosmetic Centre.

She is a cherished team member known for calming effect, quality care in the OR and phenomenal bedside manner.

Sandie – R.N., Cosmetic Injection Specialist

“As a professional registered nurse for more than 20 years, I use my wealth of medical knowledge and my experience to guide my patients through consultation and treatment,” says Sandie.

Sandie has been part of the Centre’s nursing team since 2005. After completing her nursing degree abroad, Sandie returned to Canada in 1988 and accepted a position on a medical/surgical unit at Hawkesbury General Hospital. In 1993, Sandie earned a post-graduate certificate specializing in operating room nursing. Sandie then accepted a position on the hospital’s OR team working in the day surgery and recovery room.

Relocating to Ottawa in 2001, but retaining her position at Hawkesbury, Sandie also worked for several oral surgeons in the Ottawa region. This led to a position as Head OR Nurse at Argyle Associates Surgicentre which specializes in plastic surgery, oral surgery, pediatric dental surgery and ENT and Facial Cosmetic Surgery.

Elizabeth – R.N., Cosmetic Injection Specialist

“Beauty is in all of us at every age and when we feel confident about our appearance, our beauty shines brighter” says Liz.

Liz is a registered nurse as well as an aesthetician/make-up artist and is very happy to be working in a leading edge clinic where there are a multitude of options all the way from make-up and skin care to surgery and everything in between.

Liz has many years of experience as an injection specialist both with fillers and Botox. With her artistic eye and gentle manner, she strives to make every clients’ experience relaxed and positive.

Liz also works as a volunteer make-up artist for the Look Good Feel Better program, helping women with the appearance related side effects of cancer treatment.

Jennifer – Medical Aesthetician, Laser Technician & Make-Up Artist

“I love being part of this fast-growing industry that is changing and improving with new technologies to help women and men look and feel their very best! I believe in constantly updating my education to be on top of the latest advancements in this field, so that way, I can always suggest the most beneficial options for my patients’” – says Jennifer.

Jennifer joined the Facial Surgery & Cosmetic Centre of Ottawa in 2008. She graduated with Honours from the Masters Aesthetics Program at The Ottawa Academy in 2000 and Toronto’s Complexions International Professional Television and Film Make-up Artistry Program in 2004.

Jennifer is an expert in laser skin rejuvenation as well as skin care analysis. She holds certificates for laser skin tightening, fractionated technologies, non-surgical liposuction and chemical facial peels.

Jennifer enjoys guiding her patients’ through the process from the beginning to maintenance while building genuine relationships and earning her patients’ trust.

Nancy – Aesthetic Technician

“I pride myself on having a thorough and keen understanding of medical skin care, its products and procedures,” says Nancy.

Nancy has a unique background which allows her to bring her extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical products to an aesthetics environment. She worked in the pharmaceutical industry for seven years and has been part of our team since 2006.

Nancy has received laser certifications from Palomar Medical, Syneron & Alma Lasers for IPL, Radio Frequency and Erbium Laser technologies. She has also received certification in PCA Facial Regeneration Chemical Peels. During her time at the Centre, Nancy has been personally trained by Medical Aesthetics Manager Bonnie and Dr. Antoniak and continues to participate in external training and seminars to upgrade her knowledge and skills.

Nancy is exceptional at performing VISIA complexion analysis and overseeing patients’ individual skin health restoration requirements. She works collaboratively with her patients to identify the appropriate skin care solutions to meet their needs.

The Administration Team

Allison – Medical Administrator

“Work is very fulfilling when you enjoy what you do and the people you work with,” says Allison.

Allison has worked with the Centre since graduating from Mican College’s Medical Administration program in 1999. As the Centre’s surgical and patient care co-ordinator, Allison is well known for her great rapport with clients and her excellent customer service skills.

Christine – Marketing & Medical Administrator

“I want everyone to leave our clinic happier than when they first walked in” – says Christine.

Christine’s warm and bubbly personality makes her a perfect fit as our newest clinic team member. Her down-to-earth and compassionate nature will make your experience here at The Facial Surgery & Cosmetic Centre of Ottawa a very comfortable and pleasant one.

Christine has been in the customer service industry since 1999 and has 9 years of retail management experience. She joins our team with enthusiasm and enjoys growing her knowledge in the cosmetic/aesthetic industry by attending educational seminars and participating in team training sessions.

Nadia - Administrator

“When the client’s happy, I know I’ve done my job!” – says Nadia

As the rookie of the office, Nadia is looking to bring new creative ideas and a fresh outlook to the team. Stationed at the front of the office, despite her small stature, she has a big, bright personality. She will always greet you with a welcoming smile and assist you with anything you need.

 In addition to working at the Centre, Nadia is also studying at the University of Ottawa, aspiring to obtain her degree in Social Sciences. Her out-going personality and willingness to learn new things comes as an asset to the office.
